With nearly 40 shows, 24 designers and 14 labels presenting their AW16 collections last month, it was one of the biggest fashion events in Portugal. It opened at the Beato Convent in Lisbon on 16 March and continued for three days in Porto, giving journalists, bloggers and international buyers a great chance to discover new names. Today we’d like to introduce three of them and honestly, we recommend to keep them in mind.

HIBU

HIBU is a label founded by Marta Gonçalves and Gonçalo Páscoa, who believe that gender is not so relevant in design. They provide a new attitude to unisex and we love its urban, sporty aesthetics and deconstructed forms.

Hugo Costa

This one might already sound familiar. Hugo Costa has been developing collections of clothing, footwear, accessories and illustration since 2007. His latest project “Metamorphoses” transforms classic fabrics into very modern design. Oversize silhouette, mostly grey, black and white, are Costa’s trade marks. In our opinion – great ready-to-wear.

Mafalda Fonseca

Mafalda Fonseca plays with proportions and shapes of classic tailoring.
