It\u2019s just #amazing.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"tmblr-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/reservedmagazine.bojarowicz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/tumblr_inline_ondrxoLYjY1qgi16c_540.jpg\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><!-- more --><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The word \u201cmeme\u201d was coined by the\u00a0British biologist Richard Dawkins in 1976 to mean an\u00a0\u201cimitated thing.\u201d For Dawkins, the\u00a0word referred to pieces of language and\u00a0culture that were transmitted across time and\u00a0space, but the\u00a0Internet has carried that idea of transmission to its extreme. <\/p>\n<p>Memes \u2014 images or animated GIFs, often with text \u2014 are the\u00a0common currency of social media, passed from user to user millions times a\u00a0day. Gucci decided to use their popularity for latest collection of watches. They commissioned international artists curated by Alessandro Michele to develop original imagery. The images were then given to a\u00a0new class of viral creators already famous on Twitter and Instagram to turn into new memes.
