From January to December we’ve been observing every move in fashion industry – from rising models to buzzy runways, happenings and parties, campaigns and new trends. It’s time to recall the biggest fashion moments of 2015. Selected by Reserved.
1.
Kendall Jenner and Justin Bieber for Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein Underwear. The campaign itself was nothing special, as we got used to it since 1993 (and Kate Moss), but this time it became the buzziest of the year. Why? Calvin Klein invited the next generation of models Kendall Jenner and Justin Bieber.
2. Zoolander – Runway – Valentino
When we visited Paris Fashion Week in March, all news were about two main events: Chanel “Brasserie Gabrielle” in Grand Palais and special guests at Valentino runway. Actors Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crushed the Valentino catwalk to announce the movie “Zoolander II” coming to the cinemas in 2016.
3. Cara Delevingne takes a break
Cara had a few announcements in 2015. She proposed to her girlfriend Annie Clark, designed a collection “The Future Is Female” to support the charity and starred in her first movie called “Paper Towns”. After opening up about how the modeling industry gave her major body issues, she’s more into an acting career in 2016.
4. “New generation” models
For its Spring ‘15 campaign Céline invited Joan Didion. 81-year-old literary icon was one of the new generation models, that inspired fashion industry last year. Models +50, plus-size or with disabilities conquered the 2015 runways.
5.
Caitlyn Jenner on the cover
“Call me Caitlyn” became the three words that broke the internet in 2015. The first transgender person at the cover of Vanity Fair started a loud debate in pop culture and fashion. Not only Caitlyn was drawing our attention. All Jenner family was on the top in 2015.
6.
Kanye’s West debut at NYFW
In 2015 Kanye West made his fashion debut at New York Fashion Week. His collection “Yeezy Season 1″ was one of the buzziest of the year and even though was not well-received by critics, was sold out in one day.
7.
Lily-Rose Depp for Chanel campaign
2015 was definitely the year for celebrities’ kids – Georgia May Jagger, Iris Law, Jack Kilmer and Brooklyn Beckham only open the list. Chanel Eyewear campaign recently introduced Lily-Rose Depp, the daughter of Johny Depp and Vanessa Paradis and 2016 will definitely follow this trend.
8. Tom Ford skips the runway
Instead of a traditional runway, Tom Ford showed his Spring 2016 collection through a three minute video. After Snapchat shows by Michael Kors and Burberry or Misha Nonoo’s #InstaShow we are pretty sure that fashion goes on-line.
