Another admirable Christmas campaign. Burberry pays tribute to iconic “Billy Elliot” movie and makes Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Romeo Beckham dance! See great Mario Testino photos accompanied by a three-minute sparkling video.
It’s 15 years since “Billy Elliot” was released. To pay tribute to the iconic British movie Burberry has taken it as inspiration for the 2015 festive campaign. Christopher Bailey created a dance-themed short video, that imitates “Billy Elliot’s” opening credits – Billy bouncing on his bed to the sound of T-Rex’s “Cosmic Dancer”.
“Billy Elliot is an incredible film full of so much joy and energy, so it was a real thrill and a great honour to be able to celebrate its 15 year anniversary through our festive campaign,” said Christopher Bailey, Burberry chief creative and executive officer.
The film is accompanied by a series of still images shot by photographer Mario Testino. Who was involved in this unique campaign? See the video below.

As we know from The Telegraph “Burberry has donated £500,000 in recognition of each artist’s participation in the festive campaign to two charities that help young people in the North of England community of Easington where Billy Elliot was filmed”. So it’s not just another visually great campaign.
