Yes, it is. This season we have no doubts, thanks to Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, that took this question very literally. Their latest collection is called “Wearable Art”. Why? Just see.
The “Wearable Art” collection was shown at Palais de Tokyo in Paris during Haute Couture AW15. Models were wearing dresses made from wooden frames and canvases with prints that recalled Dutch Golden Age paintings.
There was no backstage. Designers appeared on the catwalk and assisted models with getting the final looks. This brought the art show to performance-like experience.
When show came to the end, all garments were hung on the walls, creating an amazing gallery. This is how fashion turns into art, literally.
Victor, Rolf, congrats.
