An exhibition exploring five centuries of fashion and adornment will open this month. It’s a display tagged with plenty of famous names on the labels – see coronation robes alongside Dior couture and fancy dress costumes by Inigo Jones.
This time it will not happen in London, but might also be a good reason for fashion-travel? The upcoming exhibition of duchess uniforms, coronation robes and fancy-dress costumes from over five centuries opens at Chatsworth House in Bakewell, Derbyshire. You will see designs by everyone there, from Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire (1757-1806), who pioneered ostrich feathers as daywear to Christopher Kane.

The “House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion” is sponsored by Gucci and Alessandro Michele. Gucci has agreed to partner with the Chatsworth House until 2019, so we suppose there is much more to happen.
The exhibition starts on 25 March 2017 and will be open till 22 October. Fashion, historical architecture and nice walk in the park, doesn’t it sound good enough?
