Sweden and fashion? Of course! A small walk in Swedish city is enough to discover people’s love for good style. Trendsetting, avant-garde, but also very practical approach to fashion, decorative arts and design can be seen in Gothenburg’s Röhsska Museum. Visit if you have a chance – we already did. It’s the only museum of fashion in Sweden.
The Röhsska Museum is just off the main avenue in central Gothenburg. It exposes everything from contemporary design to thousand years old Chinese ceramics. The design history collection starts from 1851 up to present, including textile, furniture, glass, porcelain and of course, fashion and jewellery.

The museum organizes temporary fashion exhibitions of young designers and lecture series, open for public. All the information can be found on their web page www.rohsska.se/en/. Röhsska Museum is worth a visit also due to its industrial design collection and decorative arts. The furniture collection consists of higher class furniture from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and neoclassicism. You’ll find Jacobsen’s “Ant” chair or Philipp’s Starck lemon squeezer.
