…meanwhile in Paris

We are extremely focused on Berlin and it’s Fashion Week, no doubts. Meanwhile in Paris, the biggest high fashion event took place – Paris Haute Couture Week. We couldn’t be in two places at one time, but we kept an eye on the best catwalks. Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino, Viktor&Rolf, Chanel, Atelier Versace, Dior and more presented their Fall/Winter collections for 2014-15. While haute couture is still a matter of big prestige for the fashion house, it’s a perfect opportunity to see truly exclusive and trend-setting pieces. Raf Simons, the Creative Director of Maison Dior, is determined to modernise and streamline Dior client. “I was interested in the process of finding something extremely modern through something very historical. What I was attracted to was an idea of architectural construction – that is a very Dior attitude – how the foundations of one era are based on another, how the future is based on the past”, said designer. Did the collection expressed that?

Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall Winter 2014-2015

Embroidered silk frock coats, ball skirts and "melting fondant colours” perfectly matched with ankle length riding coats, worn on strict black trousers and tops. Simons also introduced a palette of icy pastels – from palest blush to powder blue, that put his stamp on the collection. The final result, as you can see, is stunning.imageimageimageimageimage
