You say you want a revolution?

Take a trip through seven revolutions in five extraordinary years from 1966 to 1970 thanks to V&A Museum. The 1960s changed everything, politics, art, music, sex, technology and fashion, of course. The exhibition explores that all.

How have the finished and unfinished revolutions of the late 1960s changed the way we live today and think about the future? Revolution in youth identity, revolution in consuming, revolution in living, revolution in communicating? “You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966-1970″
exhibition explores the era-defining impact of the late 1960s, expressed through some of the greatest music, film, fashion and design.

For example, the philosophy of Beat Generation, music and exotic religions drove the underground movement of the late 1960s. Psychedelic clubs, such as the Roundhouse and UFO in London started to combine music with light shows, avant-garde cinema and dance troupes. This in turn inspired a new vibrancy in artwork, design and also fashion.

On the exhibition you will find many stories explaining trends or searching for their origins. Did you know that the music festival fashion comes also from that time?

“You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966-1970″ exhibition is presented at Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It’s on until 26 February 2017. Who’s in?
