Only three individuals have nabbed the honor to be exhibited solo at the Costume Institute at Metropolitan Museum of Art – Jackie Kennedy, Iris Apfel and Nan Kempner. Now she comes, the fourth big fashion icon – Jacqueline de Ribes.
Jacqueline de Ribes has been a member of the International Best Dressed List since 1962. She’s a French fashion icon, designer and businesswoman. The Costume Institute at Metropolitan Museum of Art has been working for past eight years to prepare “The Art of Style”, an exhibition featuring items from Ribes’s wardrobe.
The display features more than sixty ensembles of haute couture and ready-to-wear costumes from her personal archive, dating from 1959 to the present.
Would like to see it live? “Jacqueline de Ribes: The Art of Style” is on display at Anna Wintour Costume Center at Metropolitan Museum of Art from 19 November to 21 February.
