This book is great. Completely different than other street photography albums – first time standing out from the crowd wasn’t the key. From Amsterdam to New York to Paris to Shanghai, it shows a fascinating collection of ‘anti-sartorial’ pictures of street life, taken by artist and photographer Hans Eijkelboom.
Have you ever met a person wearing the same jacket as you? How did you feel, remember? Now imagine there’re 10 000 men and women around the world, in the same garment (for example black&red checked shirt, that is so popular this season). It’s quite awkward, because we’re used to seeing photos of people who look unique and stand out on the street. Not those, who look the same. “People of the Twenty-First Century” changes the point.
The book is definitely worth flicking through. Big thanks to our friend for recommending it!
