Street fashion breaks the rules. White is only for summer, the bag have to match your shoes and no stockings for peep-toes – not any more. See the stylisations standing against the fashion myths.
Myth#1 Bag should match the shoes
Does it? There’s nothing bad in having black handbag and black shoes, but it’s not a fashion rule any more – if it ever was. Try to match your purse with other garments, like jacket or skirt, or go for something completely new. Playful mix of colours and patterns will always bring more interesting look.
Myth#2 White is for summer
While your white, linen clothes might rather wait till spring, don’t ignore that colour all year-round. Remember, that white has so many shades and tones, perfect for different seasons. Check the cosy ivory for sweaters in autumn, snowy-colored winter coats and crisp white spring blouses. Take it one step ahead, wearing whites from head-to-toe!
Myth#3 One pattern at a time
If you go for polka dots, stay with polka dots. No, no, there is not such rule. You can mix all prints you wish. It became a strong street style trend already few seasons ago to wear dots with stripes and leopard and paisley and whatever you like. Just experiment.
Myth#4 Navy and black never together
There is completely no reason to avoid that combination. These colours look extremely elegant and classy matched together. The same myth worked for years about pink and red, and trust us – good it’s gone.
Myth#5 Shines are for a night out
Metallics and glitters are on top now, according to the latest catwalk shows. Feel free to wear them during the daytime. A glossy blouse or shimmering trousers will bring some chic to every simple look.
Myth#6 Stockings OR peep-toes
Contrasting your open-toe shoes with a black stockings or printed socks can be really sophisticated. Not easy to match, but a good combination certainly will add you a style.
